Leukoderma, another name for vitiligo, is a skin condition in which a person has smooth, white spots in various places on the body. This disease is an autoimmune condition that can occur on both sides of the body, just one side of the body or particularly in one area of the body. Today, it’s the most common skin depigmenting condition, experienced by about 0.5 percent of the population. While it is typically believed to be genetic, its symptoms may be exacerbated by sun exposure.
